Each year your business will need to draw up a set of accounts. The complexity and detail of these accounts will depend on the nature and size of your business. These accounts are important as they will form the basis of your tax return, or tax calculation if you are a sole trader, and will be the yardstick by which outsiders will measure your business. This could include suppliers, creditors, investors, trading partners, insurers and financial institutions.
